“51 years, 9 months and 4 days. That was how long I’ve loved you” – Florentino Ariza.

I was away when the movie “Love in the Time of Cholera” was released recently. I really have to watch this film although it is being graded as “D” (DVD only) at some websites. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of my favourite authors. Reading “Love in the Time of Cholera” may not be as interesting it is supposed to be back when I was 17+ yonks ago - at the age where I may not know how great a man’s love is for a woman that would span decades. I read the book again in 2003 and only then realised the heart-warming story of a true love between Florentino and Fermina.

I shall not be biased – reading the book and also watching the movie. Hope the latter will be as good as Marquez’s writings in the book. And, Shakira sang 3 songs for the movie, en espanol, si!
